Congratulations to our newly minted Ph.D. graduates Dr. Hayley Theriot and Dr. Michael Eledge who both defended this July.
Dr. Theriot was in the laboratory of Dr. Roger Pechous and defended her dissertation “Identifying and Characterizing Determinants of the Biphasic Disease Progression of Pneumonic Plague” last July 6. Her paper was recently published in Infection and Immunity journal. She is now a Regulatory Specialist in the Clinical Trials office at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
Dr. Eledge was in the laboratory of Dr. Karl Boehme and defended his dissertation “Host Factors That Influence Reovirus-induced Myocarditis in Neonatal Mice” last July 26. He will be starting as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph Hyser at Baylor College of Medicine later this August.
