Skills and Qualifications
A clear passion for quality improvement is required, and advanced training in quality improvement methodology is encouraged. Expertise directing teams and other leadership experience is preferred. Dedicated at least 25% FTE.
Opportunity Highlights
- Develop, implement and coordinate the department’s quality improvement strategic plan with a focus on expanding our emphasis on quality improvement projects and newer innovative approaches to overall care
- Interface with quality improvement champions in each academic Section and with specific programs to provide advice and assistance on quality improvement projects
- Lead the faculty Quality Council, and emphasize its connection between ACH and the department
- Collaborate with operational leaders to expand opportunities for training in quality improvement science for all faculty, trainees and ACH partners
- Maintain a web-accessible database of previously completed projects, current projects, project leaders and other team members, to include, but not limited to, maintenance of certification projects
- Partner with the Arkansas Children’s vice president of quality and safety and chief quality and safety officer to align strategy and resources
- Maintain and expand support for faculty and trainees through provided design studies, statistical support, data support and education
- Maintain a budget that allows for the expansion of quality and innovation projects throughout the Department
- Collaborate with the Clinical Effectiveness and Outcomes Department to develop and implement a diagnostic safety program, and utilize quality directors in each section to provide ongoing case reviews
Practice Is Based at Arkansas Children’s Hospital
The Arkansas Children’s system includes two hospitals, a statewide care network of clinics and outreach programs, a research institute and a foundation. Arkansas Children’s is the only pediatric health system in the state of Arkansas, providing coverage to the state’s children from birth to age 21. The hospital staff consists of more than 500 faculty, 200 residents and 4,400 support staff.
