Our Facilities

The Department of Pediatrics has more than 300 primary faculty members organized into 25 subspecialty sections, and over 500 physicians within the Arkansas Children’s system, including pediatric surgeons, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and others. We have many programs that other children’s hospitals do not.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital

Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) is the home of the UAMS Department of Pediatrics. ACH is a 336-bed tertiary care facility and one of two freestanding pediatric hospitals within the Arkansas Children’s Health System.

  • Arkansas’ only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center
  • NICU with 168 beds, PICU with 26 beds, and a CVICU with 30 beds
  • Staff includes ~500 physicians and 4400+ employees

    The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is the only allopathic medical school in the state.

  • Located 2 miles west of ACH
  • 175 medical students per class
  • 62 residency programs with 682 resident physicians 1,500 faculty
  • Also home to Colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Professions, and a Graduate School.
  • Features the state’s only Proton Center

    • Arkansas Children’s Northwest

    Opened in 2018, Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) is the region’s only pediatric hospital. It was designed to provide exceptional care for children in the region.

  • Currently expanding to 40 inpatient beds
  • 42 clinic exam rooms
  • Five operating rooms
  • Adding an endoscopy suite for GI
  • Infusion center is expanding
  • MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray imaging
  • PT, OT and Speech Therapy clinics
