Ronald Sanders Jr., M.D., Section Chief of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, has been named Executive Vice Chair for the NutriNet subgroup of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) network. Dr. Sanders begins his tenure in this role in September of 2023. The NutriNet subgroup aims to improve outcomes and quality of care for critically ill infants and children through rigorous collaborative injury to identify, deliver and monitor optimal nutritional therapies.
He is also serving as Executive Committee vice-chair for the PALISI Near4Kids subgroup.
The National Emergency Airway Registry for Children (NEAR4KIDS) is a multi-center, prospective registry for advanced airway management in pediatric intensive care units. The primary goal of the project is to improve advanced airway management practice for critically ill children.
The project currently has more than twenty participating centers in North America. It is based at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and the database is maintained with the support of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in Boston, Massachusetts.
