Home Town: Tuscaloosa, Ala.
When I study medicine, I most enjoy learning about: human physiology and how everything in the body works, especially on the molecular level.
Things that make me unique are: I love coffee and enjoy experimenting at home with different grinds and brewing methods to make the perfect cup.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: play golf, workout, watch sports, and take my two golden retrievers on walks, hikes, and to breweries. I also really enjoy woodworking and DIY projects.
To get myself motivated I think of: how fortunate I am that my job is to take care of children and make them healthier. Nothing beats the smile and laugh of a child after you’ve helped them feel better!
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: mostly nonfiction, anything Atul Gawande.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching: any James Bond movie or a comedy.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): college football (Roll Tide!) and Major League Baseball (Go Braves!).
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: everything from classic rock and country music to rap/hip hop and EDM, but my favorite artists are John Mayer and Mat Kearney.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: the local parks, breweries, and restaurants.
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: everyone I met on my interview was so kind, welcoming, and made me feel at home.
