David Matlock, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Neonatolog section for the Pediatrics deparmtent at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He is part of the NICU team and Specialized team for gastrointestinal and lung anomalies, as well as the High Risk Newborn Clinic for ACH, and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic for UAMS.
Dr. Matlock has received Top Clinical Abstract Award, and Best Abstract Award, along with nominations for the Drs. Joanna J and Robert W. Seibert Award and Stacie Jones Junior Research Faculty Award. He has also been a finalist for the UAMS Pediatrics Chairman’s Resident Training award.
Dr. Matlock’s research is focused on breathing in neonates and how to improve the quality of respiratory support. His research has been published in many scientific journals and has been presented to national conferences. He has several research projects underway, including the Diaphragmatic Initiation of Breathing (DIVA) Trial.
