Home Town: Benton, AR
When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: I love learning all about infectious diseases, planetary health, and ways to tackle health disparities.
Things that make me unique are: I moved around a LOT growing up but have been in Arkansas since 2010, I’m terrified of heights but once swam on the edge of Victoria Falls, I can smell Greek yogurt from a mile away, and my favorite pair of shoes are rainbow crocs.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Trail run, hang out with my dog, camp, kayak, be outside!
To get myself motivated I think of: All the work I’ve put in to get here and the need to be the best pediatrician I can be to help make positive changes in my community and the lives of my patients.
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: Currently reading The Overstory by Richard Powers. I love The Orchardist, A Tale of Two Cities, and anything by Anthony Doerr. I’m always taking suggestions for new books!
With popcorn in hand, the movie I’m watching is: The Lion King, About Time, and Pride and Prejudice are my all time favorites, but the best movie I saw in the past year was The Peanut Butter Falcon.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): Brooklyn 99! Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Almost anything. Love me some classic rock and indie/folk, but it’s always 2000’s hip-hop/pop if I’m running.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: All of the great food and brews we have in Little Rock!
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: It really feels like one big family. Everyone is here to help each other be the best they can be and provide the best care possible for their patients. I know I will have all the support I need to finish my training at a great place and have fun along the way!
