Biography
After obtaining her medical degree, Dr. Diaz completed a residency in Pediatrics from Universidad de El Salvador. She joined the ACNC in 2013, initially as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Outside of research, Dr. Diaz enjoys gardening, biking, restoring old furniture, cooking, and spending time with her daughter.
Research Interests
Dr. Diaz plays a major role conducting flagship ACNC clinical studies, such as the Prenatal Probiotic, Blueberry, and ChiPP trials. Her research program focuses on understanding how nutrition and fitness (aerobic capacity) interact with each other to impact maternal-offspring health and childhood development. She is specifically interested in understanding how physical fitness and nutrition work together to impact immune responses, vascular function, and metabolic health of children
