Home Town: Birmingham, AL
When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: microbiological/infectious causes of disease, congenital diseases, and genetic syndromes
Things that make me unique are: I don’t drink coffee, I’m the first doctor in my family, I double majored in Biology and Spanish, and it’s a goal of mine to become a certified translator at some point in my career!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: sing, spend time with my dog Penny, and binge-watch TV (popcorn is a must)
To get myself motivated I think of: all the hard work it took for me to get here and how proud my family is of me for reaching this point. Oh, and also getting to make a difference in the lives of kids and their families!
Favorites
Books: Anything fiction! My current favorite is The Book Thief
Movies: Big fan of old school Disney (my favorites are Mulan and The Emperor’s New Groove), Pride and Prejudice (2005), About Time, Get Smart. It’s honestly a long, diverse list that could go on forever
TV Show: New Girl, Schitt’s Creek, Parks and Rec, Dark, The Great British Baking Show
Music: All of it! Some of my favorite artists are Penny and Sparrow, Harry Styles, Bleachers, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: I really loved my interview day. Everyone, including both residents and staff, was so kind and easy to talk to. I knew I wanted to be somewhere I could feel comfortable and at home in addition to receiving top-notch, hands-on training, and UAMS meets those criteria and more!
