When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: pathophysiology. Understanding all the different processes and pathways that are occurring simultaneously to keep our bodies running properly is pretty interesting.
Things that make me unique are: I’ve been to 5 out of 7 continents. I’ve also lived in Kenya and can still speak some Swahili. Also, I’m a HUGE Iowa Hawkeyes fan!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: explore the outdoors. I like to spend time with family and friends as much as possible. I’m a huge foodie, whether it means trying new restaurants or making some new cuisine at home. I’m also as avid traveler and am always looking for my next adventure!
To get myself motivated I think of: It’s not really a thought, but I need my cup of Joe in the mornings to get my day started.
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: I’m not a huge reader but due to this social distancing stuff I’ve started reading books about investing in the stock market.
With popcorn in hand, the movie I’m watching is: Jurassic Park
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): any Iowa Hawkeye football games or Philadelphia Flyers hockey games.
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: mostly country playlists on Amazon music. I don’t discriminate though and have a pretty eclectic taste in music.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: I’m new to Little Rock and Arkansas so we’ll be exploring it together!
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: It was my favorite interview! Everyone from the pre-interview dinner to the post-interview lunch were great. The residents were all down to earth, knew how to have fun and most importantly, laughed. The faculty and staff that I met during my day were amazing too. Plus, the program had everything I was looking for to prepare me for a fellowship after residency.
