Home Town: Dickinson, Texas
When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: Rare genetic disorders, disease pathogenesis and preventative medicine.
Things that make me unique are: I have traveled to 31 states, 28 countries and 23 National Parks. Trying to get to 30 before I turn 30.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Travel, camp, hike, read, play board games, do puzzles, listen to old music and watch loads of movies.
To get myself motivated I think of: My husband dancing to Eye of the Tiger.
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: I am on a rotation of high fantasy series (like the Stormlight archive, GOT and The Witcher), crime/ mystery (specifically with female protagonists) and fictionalized historic/ anthropologic books.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: Catch Me If You Can or Hunt for the Wilderpeople.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): I don’t know what DVR or a cable box is anymore but I pretty much just watch all of Friends, The Office, Parks and Rec, The New Girl, How I Met Your Mother and Gilmore Girls, then repeat.
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Blues, Oldies, Classic Rock, and so I am not mistaken for a 68 year old I throw in some indie folk rock.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: The state parks, because I want to take me to the state parks, I’ve heard good things.
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: Besides the fact that it checked all of my boxes, everyone seemed happy. I had a few amazing conversations with staff/ residents that made me feel comfortable and like I would fit in nicely.
