Nahed Elhassan, MD, MPH, is a professor in the Neonatology section of Pediatrics for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Elhassan’s research interest is in opiate use during pregnancy, neonatal health outcomes, and emotional and behavioral disorder among preterm infants. Her research has taken her to conferences across the country and internationally presenting her findings while working with many other researchers to obtain the best knowledge. She has several publications that include the NICU guidebook, book chapters, and scientific journal articles.
Dr. Elhassan has been awarded the Sage Scribe Award, Educator of the Year award numerous times and has been nominated as Mentor of the Year. She is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Society for Pediatric Research to name a few. She is a mentor to several other Assistant Professors in the Department of Pediatrics to promote their growth.
