Home Town: Reserve, Louisiana
When I study medicine, I most enjoy learning about: How pathology, pharmacology, genetics, and environmental factors influence physiology and clinical presentation.
Things that make me unique are:
I have lived in five states in the South (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and now Arkansas). In college, I minored in Business Marketing while majoring in Biochemistry. After college, I completed a service year with a homeless shelter for youth.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: enjoy the outdoors, hike, kayak, listen to podcasts, and enjoy local restaurants and breweries
To get myself motivated I think of: the amazing doctors who have treated my own family members and how I have the incredible opportunity to be that for other families
Favorites
Books: Memoirs, Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom, The Giver series by Lois Lowry
Movies: All the Pixar movies (especially Inside Out and the Toy Story series), The Breakfast Club, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Jim Carrey version)
TV Show: The Office, Parks & Rec, and really any comedy series
Music: A little of everything, but lately I’ve been listening to Surfaces, Needtobreathe, and Parker McCollum
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: I wanted a program that had a supportive environment while still having the opportunity to see everything pediatrics has to offer. On my interview day, I came out of every conversation thinking that I would be incredibly privileged to complete my training at UAMS.
