Interests:
Dr. Crary joined the division at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2011. She previously served as Assistant Professor in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Dallas Children’s after completion of fellowship. She obtained a MS in Clinical Science at UT Southwestern Graduate School in 2009. Her primary clinical and research interests are focused on the care of children with bleeding or clotting disorders. She also has a strong interest in the hematologic aspects and medical management of complex vascular anomalies and works closely with the vascular anomalies multidisciplinary team at Arkansas Children’s. Dr. Crary has an extensive record of mentoring approximately 40 fellows, residents, medical students, and junior faculty in research, many whom have gone on to pursue careers in academic medicine.
Research:
Dr. Crary’s research interests focus primarily on hemostasis—both bleeding and clotting disorders in children. She is currently involved in studies investigating risk factors for thrombosis in hospitalized children, investigational treatments for Von Willebrand Disease, as well as gene therapy for Hemophilia A and B. Dr. Crary has an interest in coagulopathy as it relates to patients with complex vascular malformations and is on the Executive Committee of the Consortium of Investigators of Vascular Anomalies (CaNVAS) which is actively developing clinical trials and novel research studies in the area of vascular anomalies.
