Feliciano “Pele” Yu, Jr., MD, MSHI, MSPH, FAAP, FHIMSS, FAMIA, is a Professor of Pediatrics, Biomedical Informatics, and Public Health at UAMS, where he also serves as Chief Medical Information Officer at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He leads the Section of Clinical Informatics and directs the UAMS Clinical Informatics Fellowship Training Program. Dr. Yu co-founded and directs the UAMS Mindfulness Program, teaching mindfulness and leading well-being initiatives for students, healthcare professionals, and the wider community. He is certified in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Koru Mindfulness, regularly offering classes across UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Yu holds a BS in Biology from the University of the Philippines, an MD from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, and dual master’s degrees—MSHI and MSPH—from University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he also completed an NIH National Research scholarship Award fellowship. His pediatric residency was at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He is the founder and medical director of the Arkansas Children’s Integrative Health Clinic and Services and is board-certified in Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics.
