Dr. Rakesh Lavu graduated from the Gandhi Medical College in 2018. He completed his pediatric residency training at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama in 2022. He then completed a Neonatology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in 2025, and then accepted an appointment in the UAMS College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Neonatology.
Dr. Lavu has received several professional recognitions including the Outstanding Performance in Outpatient Setting in Pediatrics (2021, 2022), the Robert O. Harris III Outstanding 2nd year Resident Award (2021) and the Bahakel-Thai Chief Award for the most inspiring Resident (2021).
