Dr. Tiffany Miles is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Developmental Nutrition in the UAMS Department of Pediatrics and a faculty member at the Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center. Her research focuses on how early-life nutrition shapes the development and function of neuroendocrine systems that regulate growth, metabolism and energy balance.
Her work examines how nutritional conditions and neonatal endocrine signals influence the development of hypothalamic and pituitary pathways and how these early influences may affect metabolic function across the lifespan. She also studies sex as a biological variable in neuroendocrine development and metabolic regulation.
Dr. Miles earned her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Science with a focus in neuroendocrinology from UAMS and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the UAMS Department of Neurobiology and Developmental Sciences. Her research has been supported by a UAMS Translational Research Institute pilot grant, and she received the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute/Arkansas Biosciences Institute Investigator Award in 2021.
