Nahed Elhassan, MD, MPH, is a Professor in the Neonatology Section of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).
Dr. Elhassan’s research interests are centered on health services research within the neonatal population. Her work has been presented at both national and international conferences, and she has authored numerous publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She also serves as the co-editor of the UAMS/ACH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Guidebook, a practical resource designed to support healthcare professionals in providing comprehensive care to newborns in the NICU.
Dr. Elhassan has received multiple accolades for her contributions to education and mentorship including the ACH Department of Pediatrics Educator of the Year Award in 2009, 2012, and 2016. She has also been nominated for the department’s Mentor of the Year Award. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society for Pediatric Research.
